12 Days of Christmas: Day Twelve

Before time began, the Son of God existed in glory—yet on one holy night, eternity stepped into history. In Bethlehem, beneath a scatter of stars, the Creator of all things was born as a child. Mary wrapped Him in cloth and laid Him in a manger, a feeding place for animals. Heaven could not stay silent. Angels filled the sky with light, proclaiming, “Glory to God in the highest,” announcing that the Prince of Peace had entered the world. Shepherds trembled and hurried to see what God had done. Wise men later traveled far, guided by a star, kneeling before a child they recognized as King. This was no ordinary birth. The Word became flesh. Infinite holiness took on human weakness. God did not send a simple message—He came Himself. In the stillness of that night, the uncontainable God made Himself known, not with force or spectacle, but with breathtaking humility. The world would never be the same, because Christ had come.
Christmas draws our eyes upward before it turns them outward. It is not our story, but Christ’s. The wonder of Christmas is that Jesus is exactly who He claimed to be— God with us. He did not come because humanity was impressive or worthy, but because love for the Father compelled Him. Every detail of His birth reveals His nature—gentle, approachable, yet filled with divine authority. The manger points to the cross; humility marks His entire life. When we consider Christmas rightly, awe replaces familiarity. We are reminded that God is not distant or indifferent, but intimately involved in His creation. Christ entered darkness to bring light, entered weakness to reveal true power, entered time to lead us into eternity. Christmas invites us to behold Him—to worship, to marvel, to be undone by grace. When our focus rests on Christ, our fears shrink, our pride softens, and our hearts are reoriented toward glory that does not fade.
Slow down and behold Christ. Read the Christmas story again—not to analyze, but to worship. Let awe return. Offer Him your attention, your reverence, and your praise. This season, let wonder lead you to deeper devotion, and let Christ be the center of your joy.
